SuperBottoms - Redefining Diapers with Sustainability
SuperBottoms is a D2C brand that sells cloth diapers and other baby products. Pallavi Utagi founded it in 2016. Pallavi is a mother of two and was inspired to start SuperBottoms after she struggled to find cloth diapers that were both effective and easy to use.
When Pallavi Utagi became a mother, she faced the common issue of constant rashes caused by traditional diapers on her infant. This challenge led her on a mission to create sustainable, reusable diaper options that wouldn't contribute to the world's plastic waste problem.
This brand introduced the world to the simplest-ever cloth diapers, offering a range of products from dry-feel langots to diaper pants, potty-training pants, and even upcycled toys and special needs diapers. Notably, Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is an investor in the company.
Traditional diapers often use plastic materials that can have harmful effects, such as polyethylene, which has links to childhood cancer, and non-biodegradable Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs). These diapers also contribute to the problem of non-recyclable waste, including microplastics.
SuperBottoms stands out with its organic cotton procurement, rigorous quality checks, and construction that allows each diaper to last for up to three years. This means more than 300 uses per diaper. They also provide leak and odor-proof cloth bags for the convenience of handling soiled diapers.
